LJM Design and Management Ltd specialises in manufacturing bespoke windows, doors and joinery items for commercial clients.

The Grimsby company, set up in 2007, also offers design and management services around the construction sector – from drawing up plans and planning applications to construction and project delivery.

LJM applied to the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership’s Regional Growth Fund supported Growing the Humber Programme for a £20,000 grant to support a £60,000 project to help them purchase specialist equipment. The new kit will allow them to veneer their own bespoke joinery items and spray their own furniture.

The purchase of the equipment will also lead to an additional job at the company.
Lee Metcalf, Director of LJM Design and Management, said, “We identified the need for this machinery to help us sustain our growth. We’ve been working hard through the recession, and new contracts are coming forward. Thanks to the Regional Growth Fund, we’re going to be able to pursue our business growth programme.”

Councillor Ray Oxby, portfolio holder for regeneration, said, “Small companies need our support, and it’s great to be able to help deliver this through the funding programme. Businesses need to maintain a competitive edge and if that’s what this machinery purchase will help with, then I’m pleased to be able to support this.”
