The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership is urging businesses seeking over £1m or more for high quality projects to attend a funding launch.

Businesses from the Yorkshire and the Humber are invited to the launch of Regional Growth Fund Round 5 launch this week.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is hosting the event, which will feature a presentation on how to make a successful bid, offer businesses the opportunity to pose questions to speakers and will include a networking lunch, at the Huddersfield 3M Buckley Innovation Centre on Friday, October 25, from 10am-12.15pm.

Round 5, which opened on 11 October and closes on 9 December, makes funds available to private sector bidders seeking over £1m for high quality projects and programmes that leverage private sector investment and create sustainable jobs.

Limited expression of interest sessions will be available on the launch day. However, A dedicated day for expression of interest (EoI) meeting will be held the following Thursday, 31 October, at BIS Yorkshire Humber North East, Alexander House, Lawnswood Business Park, Redvers Close, Leeds.

EoI meetings last about 30 minutes each and include an overview of the potential bid by the company, an explanation of RGF criteria and what makes for a good bid by the advisor and a discussion about the potential bid.

In advance of your expression of interest session, businesses need to have completed and forwarded the attached Expression of Interest form to the Regional Growth Fund Secretariat at growthfund@bis.gsi.gov.uk

The Humber LEP in Partnership with North East Lincolnshire Council has its own £30m RGF funded programme for businesses to bid for between £20k and £2.5m to help businesses to grow in the Humber area.

It is designed to unlock projects that have the potential for job creation and can quickly deliver tangible economic outcomes, through providing additional investment. The next deadline for submissions is 7 November. Call (01482) 485258 to discuss putting in a bid.

There is also a £10m RGF scheme run by North Lincolnshire Council to create 500 jobs and a £25.7m scheme – the Greenport Growth Programme – run by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council to assist local businesses to develop a local supply for the renewables industry.
