As part of the Humber LEP’s role in securing Growth Deal funding from the Government, the Employment & Skills Board has chosen to put forward a skills capital programme for inclusion in the bid. This will ensure that future investment will form part of a holistic package that will complement current investments and further drive the skills profile of the region.

Each LEP will compete nationally to receive funding to achieve the ambitions for growth in regard of investment in infrastructure, business development and skills.

Eligible organisations* are invited to complete an expression of interest (EOI) form that will influence the thematic approach we will use in developing the Humber Skills Capital Programme. Projects will be expected to support the Humber LEP Strategic Economic Plan and the Employment and Skills Strategy. Projects submitted should be scalable depending upon future funding availability.

The data contained within the EOIs will be aggregated to provide an idea of future opportunities; drive themes and provide rationale for the programme. The LEP would expect these potential projects to be part of an organisation’s strategic developments and be delivered with organisations guaranteeing match funding of at least 66%, with indicative funding from the project sponsor or other partners (or the potential to obtain such funding).

There is no guarantee of funding for any individual project.  If the LEP is successful in gaining funding for the Humber Skills Capital Programme, a formal process as described within the Accountability and Assurance Framework will be followed to allocate the funding.  This will include the need to develop a more detailed business case.  Any successful project will align with the recommendations of the Area Based Reviews (due to start in September 2016).
