Aura Innovation Centre

March 8, 2018 - February 28, 2021

The Aura Innovation Centre (AIC) will create a facility focused on proactively promoting and supporting research and innovation in low carbon technologies as well as their adoption through the commercialisation of new and innovative low carbon products and services.

By providing the focal point for interactions between the knowledge base and business, the AIC will create a conducive environment for the strengthening of commercial links between research institutions and industry as well as helping to change small business attitudes towards innovation.

Spark Fund

April 18, 2017 - April 30, 2020

The Spark Fund provides a programme of Innovation Vouchers and Grants for Research & Development, including grants to support the development of low carbon innovations within SMEs in the Humber.

It supports SMEs to grow market share, improve productivity and create new employment opportunities through the development and subsequent commercialisation of new and innovative products and services.

Up to £50k of grant funding is available to support SMEs to become more innovative and undertake research and development projects.

Autumn Statement 2016: Humber announcements

November 23, 2016

The Chancellor made his Autumn Statement to the House of Commons today.

The specific announcements related to the Humber LEP are summarised below.

Growth Deals

The Government is allocating £556m from the Local Growth Fund to the 11 LEPs in the Northern Powerhouse through a third round of Growth Deals.  Details of the individual LEP allocations will be announced at a later date.  Information on the Humber’s bid can be found here.

Great British High Street

October 26, 2016

Seaview Street in Cleethorpes has got to the finals of “Great British High Street”. This is an extremely prestigious award, and is the only High Street in the Humber to have got through.

University SME Innovation Survey – Deadline Extended

The University of Hull has been invited by Government to submit full applications for European Regional Development Funding to support SMEs in the Humber, York and North Yorkshire to become more innovative.

The programmes have been developed in response to calls for projects through the Humber and York, North Yorkshire East Riding European Structural and Investment Funds that will provide innovation support, innovation vouchers and grants for research and development.

Businesses invited to bid for £7.8m European Funding Innovation Pot

April 15, 2016

Organisations are invited to apply for funding from European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) by responding to a number of Calls for projects that will encourage innovation and provide information, communications and technology (ICT) support to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).

There are five calls for projects across the Humber and York, North Yorkshire and East Riding (YNYER) LEP areas. A total of £6m is available for joint calls across the Humber and YNYER LEP areas, with a further £1.8m
