Our Business Development Board works with membership organisations including Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses to understand and act on the needs of businesses large and small, and to bring together the business voice on key issues.
The Board works through business-led task groups to deliver its work to help businesses to thrive in the Humber.
Our Marketing Group has been co-ordinating work to promote the Humber as the UK’s Energy Estuary for trade and investment, working with partners including Bondholders, the Chamber and UKTI.
Our Digital Group has been working to raise awareness of the sector and put in place support for more companies to take advantage of digital technologies.
Our Business Growth Hub has engaged with 1,907 Humber businesses to help them navigate local and national support available to them in the Humber since it launched in April 2014.
From business diagnostics, grants, exporting or supply chain support through our advisors and partner agencies businesses have been supported to safeguard 224 jobs and create 401.
Our Investment Panel has continued to support business growth with grants and loans. In the past year our Growing the Humber programme, managed by North East Lincolnshire Council, has supported 57 businesses with £3m in grants which will see 333 jobs created and £20m of private sector investment leveraged by 2021.
In total the programme has invested £24.4m in 283 businesses, creating an estimated 2,289 jobs and leveraging £121.8m private sector investment by March 2021.
Through our Business Loan Fund, administered by Hull City Council, 15 businesses have accessed £7m in loans creating 2,042 jobs and leveraging £78.7m private sector investment by March 2021.
