CR Parrott Consultants Ltd delivering on Work Experience Pledge

James Newton with Senior Project Manager, John Hubble

James Newton with Senior Project Manager, John Hubble

We have been delighted to host James Newton, a promising engineering student, over a five week period this summer.

Eighteen year old James has recently completed his A Levels at the STEM Centre at North Lindsey College, and will be heading to Newcastle University to study MEng (Hons) Civil and Structural Engineering.

During his time with us, James has been able to assist on a number of commercial and residential projects we are currently working on. He has spent the majority of his time using AutoCAD working on structural drawings, details of foundations and drawing steel framework for house extensions and new office and workshop developments.

He has also visited clients on site alongside our Project Managers, and has gained invaluable insight, including plenty of practical hints and tips which can only assist him in his future career.

James said; “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here over the last five weeks and I feel I have gained a great deal from being here. I am grateful to CR Parrott Consultants Ltd for giving me the opportunity. I am looking forward to University and my future as an Engineer. Becoming an Engineer is an attractive prospect to me because of my interest in maths and the sciences, and an Engineer applies maths and science to design and create solutions to the problems present in the world, be it the design of a new bridge needed to cross a river, creating a clean and efficient water supply, or sending a rocket carrying a satellite into space. After graduating from university I hope to practise as a Graduate Engineer before becoming a Chartered Engineer.”

CR Parrott Consultants Ltd would like to wish James all the very best for his future career.
