Hull’s Housing-led Renewal Programme incorporates many private, community sector and registered provider partners. The project combines a new build programme alongside the tackling of empty properties and neighbourhood renewal interventions and will result in 1,398 construction jobs and 88 apprenticeships over the next three years.
In all 67 newbuild houses will be completed by the end of September 2016, while 143 empty properties will be brought back into use. 285 properties are being refurbished by their existing owners and a further 1133 have already been refurbished by owners and are now occupied.
Four areas have been prioritised to receive housing improvements. Some have been prioritised for energy efficiency works while other areas will receive front boundary and garden treatments, including painting, replacing fascias and guttering and renewal of court terrace paths.
