If you have a strong interest in the business landscape in the Humber, and the desire to help the region’s businesses to succeed, you may just be the person the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is looking for as it opens recruitment for its Business Development Board.
The Business Development Board leads the Humber LEP’s work on one of its three key ambitions: to support businesses to thrive in the Humber. The board supports the development of key business sectors and the co-ordination of business support, and leads the business engagement strategy.
Formed in 2014, the Board is chaired by Paul Sewell, Managing Director of Sewell Group, and meets on a bi-monthly basis.
The board oversees key business sectors, as well as the co-ordination of business information and financial support to meet the needs of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs).
The Humber LEP are especially looking for new board members with experience and knowledge of working within SMEs, those who are more than happy to provide a strong voice for their respective sectors, and those who are passionate about the continued growth and development of the Humber area.
It is especially important to recruit people with not only expertise in the region’s business community, but the willingness to be a voice for the Humber business landscape as the Humber LEP continues to develop its Humber Industrial Strategy.
Lord Haskins, Chair of the Humber LEP, said: “The Business Development Board is intrinsic to the collaborative work we are doing to ensure the continued economic growth of the Humber.
“At the Board, members will help shape our policies and future direction through their efforts to ensure that the region’s SMEs receive the right support and advice to develop and grow their business.
“The Business Development Board is also an essential part in our communication channel between local businesses and Government – ensuring the Government listens to the views of our businesses, and better understands what it can do to support them.”
