About the company
Martin Williams, based in Burstwick in the East Riding of Yorkshire, are one of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle bodybuilders and accident repair centres, They currently manufacture around 400 vehicle bodies per year for local and national customers.
Their company mission is to be a “one stop shop” offering the initial design concept through to the build and paintwork.
About the project
Regional Growth Funding was put towards a large expansion of their workshop which saw the facility more than double in size. The expansion also included the installation of an energy efficient spray booth and enabled the business reorganise the facility to define separate divisions for repair, build, paint and maintenance.
The extension provides the company with the scope to grow and develop their offering to existing customers and to compete on a national scale with potential to export.
Twenty new jobs are expected to be created through the funding and investment including 15 skilled workshop personnel.
Nick Williams, Director, at Martin Williams (Hull) Ltd said, “Without the Regional Growth Funding we would not have been able to expand to the extent we did. Our extension has seen us double the size of our workshop and given us the capacity to push on and offer our services to customers who were previously out of our reach. I’m delighted to see the company grow and be in a position to not only offer new job opportunities and create stability for our staff but also to continue supporting local companies who subcontract for us.”
