The Humber LEP welcomes the creation of a new service to help companies bring production back to the UK.
The Humber feels it has a competitive advantage to attract companies wanting UK-based production to the Energy Estuary where the combination of connectivity, availability of land, workforce and low cost base is hard to beat.
The Humber LEP and its partners already work closely with the organisations running the Reshore UK project – UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS).
Reshore UK will be a one-stop-shop service for businesses considering coming back to UK shores for production facilities and support services. The team will provide a matching and location service, access to advice and support and a named individual to help each company.
Lord Haskins, Chair of the Humber LEP said:
“The Humber has the right available skills base, excellent connectivity for distribution, the availability of sites and premises making it attractive option for companies wishing to relocate their production to the UK.
“The region’s low cost base means it is a real opportunity for the area and one we are ready to take advantage of.”
