The Humber LEP is inviting nominations for up to five people from the Humber region to join it at the Yorkshire International Business Convention.

We are looking for organisations or mentors to nominate people – whether a young person or someone changing career direction who has set up their own business or an aspiring young business manager – who would benefit from being part of the day hearing inspirational speakers with the chance to network.

The five successful people will be part of the Humber LEP table at the event on June 6.

Those put forward for the event would need to be available on that day and be able to get themselves to and from Bridlington Spa. However, the rest of the costs including food would be covered. The all-day event will include a breakfast networking sessions, followed by a series of speakers with lunch provided in between.

This year’s line-up of inspirational speakers includes: FW De Clerk Former President of South Africa, whose work with Nelson Mandela gained them a Nobel Peace Prize; BBC Business Editor Robert Peston; award-winning inventor, author and entrepreneur Celia Gates; Richard Nobel who led the team who created Thrust 2, which was the first land-based vehicle to break the sound barrier; and entrepreneur and star of ‘Bank of Dave’ David Fishwick who has helped shape government policy to help SMEs.

Chief Executive of the Humber LEP, Kishor Tailor, said:

“We wanted to give people who have set up their own business or starting their career in business management the chance to be part of the event, to give them experience of this popular business convention and hear how successful businesses have achieved their success.

“This event gives them the chance to step back for a day from the hard work they are putting in now to give them some inspiration for the future of what can be achieved.”
