There were twenty four creative agencies who responded to the tender opportunity (ten of whom were invited). It was closely run, ably demonstrating the creativity and professionalism of the region’s design and marketing agencies.
However, in choosing the winner, the tender panel felt fred’s adherence to specification, deliverability, price and most importantly, their creative ability to brand the LEP in a manner that met the panel’s expectations as laid out in the brief, pushed them past the winning post.
The LEP is a business-led partnership between local companies, councils and the University of Hull tasked by the Government with leading economic growth in the Humber.
Chair of Humber LEP, Lord Haskins said: “If we want the Humber region to be seen on both the national and international business stages, it is vital that our branding is suitably representative. If we are to showcase our industrial strengths, the Enterprise Zone and the potential of the region to prospective investors, it is important that our corporate identity professionally reflects this.”
Edward Moss, PR & Marketing Manager for the Humber LEP, said: “With a high-quality representative corporate identity in place, this will help us firmly brand the Humber offer for potential inward investors. Unlike a traditionally tangible product that is being sold, it is not an easy task to sum up something such as a geographical region through a graphic design.
“We felt the designs presented by fred were an excellent interpretation of our priority sectors – renewable energy, chemicals, ports and logistics – and a creative treatment that would be easily understood by audiences both in this country and around the world.
“And the icing on the cake is that fred is based in the heart of the Humber region.”
