The Humber Renewables partnership, set up by the Humber LEP, is offering its final place to join them on their exhibition stand at Renewable UK 2013 in November.
SMEs can get support to cover half the cost of being part of the stand, which runs from November 5-7 in Birmingham, to join 5,000 participants and be one of the 300 exhibiting companies at the 35th Renewable UK exhibition and conference.
The partnership, which brings together inward investment officers from the four local authorities – Hull, East Riding, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire – together with the Humber LEP aims to communicate the Humber’s strong offshore-wind and renewables offer to businesses who could invest in the area.
Nine Humber companies have already signed up to be on the Humber Renewables stand at the exhibition including ABP, GBA Group, HETA (Humberside Engineering Training Association), P&O, MRT (Marine Rescue Technologies), Tata Steel and Grimsby Fish Dock Enterprises and WindPower Support.
The cost to each company is £1,200 (plus VAT), which includes a three-day Exhibitor Pass worth £360. However, SME’s that meet some basic criteria can claim back 50 per cent of the costs.
The event is one of a small number of exhibitions and international conferences selected to have a Humber Renewables presence, including the All Energy event in Aberdeen in May, and the Offshore Wind conference and exhibition in Glasgow in June 2014, to share good practice and attract investment to the Humber region linked to renewables and in particular off-shore wind.
The stand will also take a taste of the Humber to the event with Atom Brewery sharing its Humber brews complemented by crisps from local company Piper’s Crisps as part of a networking reception on the stand on Tuesday 6, where the aim is to collect in contact information from interested parties.
Humber LEP Manager Richard Kendall said:
“There is one more opportunity for a Humber business to attend the exhibition with the Humber Renewables stand at RenewableUK 2013, and if you are an SME that feels you could benefit you can take advantage of being able to claim back 50 per cent of the cost.
“We have carefully selected a small number of national and international conferences to communicate the Humber Renewables offer and make key contacts over the next 18 months.
“We have made some useful contacts with interested parties at previous events and we are hoping to replicate this success at our stand in November and at a small number of future events.”
