Over £600,000 worth of grants are available now to grow food and rural tourism businesses and support the development of tourism infrastructure projects in the Humber through the government’s £120m Rural Development Programme for England.  This investment is part of the Humber’s European Structural and Investment Fund allocation.

Grants are available for investments in:

  • Tourism infrastructure
  • Business development (tourism businesses)
  • Food processing

Neighbouring LEPs in Greater Lincolnshire and York, North Yorkshire, East Riding are also issuing calls for these grants, so applicants in the overlapping LEP areas of the East Riding, North and North East Lincolnshire will have additional opportunities to bid for funding over and above the Humber allocation.  Each area has slightly different priorities for the grants on offer so businesses and organisations interested in accessing the funding should explore all options to identify the one that is most relevant to their project.

Applications for grants can be made at any time up until midnight on 31 January 2018. Applications will be appraised on a rolling basis so applicants should be aware that all of the available funding may be allocated before the ultimate closing date. Applicants can apply for grants starting at £35,000.

Applicants should read the relevant handbook that is available online before completing an Expression of Interest. For more information about the RDPE Growth Programme, the grants available and how to apply go to:

Support is available through the Humber Growth Hub for businesses interested in applying, with further more detailed technical support available through the Rural Payments Agency.

A launch event is also taking place on 01 March in York, where potential applicants will be able to hear about the RDPE funding opportunities available in Humber, YNYER and Leeds City Region LEP areas.  For more information and to book a place go to:
