This project aims to greatly improve the traffic flow and reduce congestion on the A1105 Anlaby Road corridor outside the Hull Royal Infirmary by widening the carriageway to improve capacity whilst also strengthening the existing Park Street Bridge to remove an existing 7.5 ton weight restriction, which will improve access to the City Centre Strategic Development Sites and enable an alternative route for buses / coaches to access the Paragon bus / rail Interchange.

It is vital to improve these main highway links in to the City from the West, to not only help provide improved access to ‘City of Culture’ events in 2017, but to provide an alternative route to take traffic off the A63 Trunk Road during the construction period (4 years) for the A63 Castle Street Improvement scheme.
