Strengthening or replacement of the Melton Ross Railway Bridge. The bridge is an essential piece of infrastructure on the A18, a strategic link road between Scunthorpe and the Ports of Immingham and Grimsby. The bridge also provides the primary access route into Humberside airport, a key economic asset for the whole of the Humber LEP area identified as having huge growth potential.

The bridge is currently in a weakened state and investment is required to return it to its previous fully functioning state, thereby opening up the bridge to all vehicles using the A18 and maximising the economic benefits for the Humber area.
