About the company
Sports Identity is a signage manufacture company which specialises in servicing the sporting sector and competes internationally with established, large trading organisations with key accounts.
The business prides itself on offering service, relationship and value for money, and these core values have assisted its steady, annual growth, recently necessitating a move to larger premises.
About the project
A grant of £43,000 was awarded to the business to support investment in a number of efficiency improvements and included purchasing a new latex digital printing machine offering a more environmentally friendly technology due to the removal of solvent-based inks.
In addition to this machine, a number of other printing machines were identified for purchase to enable the business to provide more services in house and target new markets. To complete the investment, additional storage, more efficient, low carbon lighting, environmental controls, IT and security systems were installed.
The project creates four new jobs within the business with two jobs having been created almost immediately.
The grant has enabled the company to create more efficiency within the business. Rob Daysley, Managing Director says “The introduction of the new machinery has increased our workflow, reducing the ‘bottleneck’ in production and giving us the ability to produce more internally.
“The reduction in outsourcing gives us a further competitive edge in finding new customers and markets and also means that as the business is able to grow, more money will be retained within the local economy.”
