Roadmap for decarbonising the Humber takes step forward as Humber Cluster Plan Manager Appointed

Newly appointed Humber Cluster Plan Manager highlights the huge potential of the region’s industrial decarbonisation projects.

Jonathan Oxley has been appointed by the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) as Manager of the Humber Industrial Cluster Plan – a comprehensive roadmap for decarbonising industry in our region, which will show how the Humber cluster can achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2040, potentially making it the first in the world to do so.

Humber LEP welcomes plans for Equinor’s Hydrogen to Humber Saltend plant

The Humber LEP has welcomed the announcement by Equinor that it has set out plans for the Hydrogen to Humber Saltend (H2H Saltend) hydrogen and natural gas plant.

This could see one of the UK’s – and the world’s – first at-scale facilities to produce hydrogen from natural gas in combination with carbon capture and storage (CCS) being created in the region as part of Zero Carbon Humber.

Chair of the Humber LEP, Stephen Parnaby OBE, reacted positively to the news today.
